Italy, the Emilia-Romagna Region, Imola and its Enzo e Dino Ferrari Racetrack hosted a once in a lifetime edition of the Road World Championships. The organizers, the institutions and all the players involved have written a memorable chapter in the history of cycling.

The fastest Worlds in history, “a new Olympic record” were the words of the IOC President, Mr. Thomas Bach. A sports event that will go down in history, having been organized in just 20 days, facing the endless hurdles brought on by a global pandemic, which nevertheless yielded images that were seen worldwide.
The picture book retraces the “race within the race” through a selection of images that in the first part illustrate the synchronized effort of hundreds of people who worked 24 hours a day to make an impossible challenge possible. In the second part it retells the story of the races shrouded in the charm of Emilia Romagna and its colourful, boundless and lively land.
It was thanks only to the teamwork of the players involved that an event of this range could be pulled off. The same teamwork that has been behind the production of this book, coordinated by Marco Pavarini, Marco Selleri and Marco Isola, the photographer from Imola who gathered the best shots thanks also to the contribution of a dozen other accredited Worlds photographers, who have offered the outcome of their work for a book which is coveted by cycling enthusiasts as well as others.
This picture book narrates the uniqueness of the 2020 Imola – Emilia-Romagna Road World Championships and pays tribute to all those who made it possible and honoured it in terms of sport and beyond.
This book has been created in an extra-large size to better convey an amazing story which embraces sport, the territory and the historical uniqueness of its time.
